Told entirely in letters that each character writes to the other (not unlike A. R. Gurney's seminal Love Letters), Victor L. Cahn's Roses In December is part mystery, part memoirs and part romance. A young PhD candidate named Carolyn has been assigned the task of recruiting famously reclusive author Joel Gordon to attend Alumni Weekend. Joel repeatedly declines, but Carolyn's tenacity engages them in a series of letters that deepens into a friendship revealing a secret from Gordon's past- it may bring to light who Carolyn's real father is.

STARRING

The cast for Roses In December will be Tony Award-winning actor James Naughton and his daughter, actress and musicianKeira Naughton.

Keira Naughton will continue on for the remaining two weeks of the run.

Original music written by composer and concert pianist, Sergei Dreznin> , adds a new dimention to the production. Set and lighting design will be by long-time Urban Stages’ collaborator Roman J. Tatarowicz.
