MOTHER LOLITA, set in modern-day Los Angeles, centers around a high-energy apartment complex that is ruled by a sexy Hispanic siren named Lola. This fast-paced new comedy brings us murder, music and redemption, all in less than two hours. Mr. Reyes pushes the boundaries in this, his latest work since the Outer Critic's Circle Award winning Men On the Verge Of a His-Panic Breakdown.

The cast: include Piter Fattouche, Rana Kazkaz, Carlos Molina, Debora Rabbai, Caesar Samayoa, Matt Skollar, and Brigitte Viellieu-Davis as "Lola". Set and lighting design by Roman Tatarowicz, costume design by Marcus Henry, and sound design by Mark Gwinn (Drama Desk Nominee for Coyote On A Fence).

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Guillermo Reyes won the 1997 National Hispanic Playwrights Contest with his play, "A Southern Christmas". He came to ASU in 1996 with an impressive list of plays and awards to his credit. Chilean Holiday was produced at Actors Theater of Louisville, Humana Festival '96 and published in Humana Festival '96: The Complete Plays. "Men on the Verge of a His-Panic Breakdown" won Theater's L.A.'s Ovation Award for Best World Premiere Play and Best Production in 1994 (Smaller Theater), and has since played in San Francisco's Theater Rhinoceros, San Jose's City Lights, and Playwrights Preview Productions of New York City where it also won the 1996 Emerging Playwright Award and received an Off-Broadway production at the 47th Street Playhouse (presented by Urban Stages), where it won an Outer Critics Circle Award. His play Deporting the Divas recently played at Borderlands Theatre of Tucson and Theater Rhinoceros in San Francisco where it won the 1996 Bay Area Drama-Logue for Playwriting and was nominated for Original Script by the Bay Area Critics Circle. Mr. Reyes has also written "Miss Consuelo", "Allende by Pinochet", "The West Hollywood Affair", "The Seductions of Johnny Diego" and others.
